For the past eight years, I have had the honor to serve Daly City Council. This included two terms as Mayor. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped lead our community through a time of profound uncertainty working to keep residents informed, connected to resources, and supported. As Mayor in 2022, I helped reopen City Hall and bring our community back together after a period of isolation and disruption through online community meet ups, community events, addressing Anti Asian violence, and supported Mental Health first aid training. I am seeking re-election because I believe local government must deliver for the people who call this city home: stable housing, economic opportunity, climate action, strong public services, and real civic power for every resident. These experiences have made me a battle-tested and proven leader who leads with care and empathy; showing up in difficult moments; listening to our community; and with the hope and imagination to lead Daly City into the future.

As the son of immigrants, who was raised by a proud Registered Nurse and a blue-collar worker, I learned sacrifice, perseverance, and humility. Those values guide my work as a husband, father, tenured Skyline College professor, nonprofit leader advancing Ethnic Studies, and public servant. I am proud to have helped advance educator housing and large mixed-income developments, elevate youth and women’s voices in local government, and advocate for mental-health support, first-aid training, and cultural events that strengthen belonging.

My priorities are clear: keep Daly City affordable and stable by expanding housing and protecting tenants from displacement; build a safer, healthier city through prevention, mental-health care, neighborhood connection, safer streets, clean energy, and green spaces; and make City Hall work for everyone through accessible services, multilingual engagement, youth leadership, and transparent, community-led decisions.
